Commonwealth of Dominica

Dominica provides a contribution route through its Economic Diversification Fund.

The fund supports public and private development initiatives in areas such as education, healthcare, tourism, agriculture and national infrastructure.

Minimum contribution

  • USD 200,000 for the principal applicant
  • USD 250,000 for the principal applicant and up to three qualifying dependants
  • USD 25,000 for each additional dependant below 18
  • USD 40,000 for each additional dependant aged 18 or above

Due-diligence, interview, processing, passport and professional fees are additional.

Eligible family members

Depending on age and dependency requirements, an application may include:

  • Spouse
  • Children
  • Financially dependent children within the permitted age limit
  • Parents or grandparents who meet the applicable dependency conditions

Main requirements

Applicants must generally:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have no disqualifying criminal or regulatory history
  • Demonstrate good character
  • Provide evidence of lawful funds and wealth
  • Pass enhanced government due diligence
  • Complete a mandatory interview where required
  • Submit properly legalised and translated documents
  • Make the contribution after receiving the relevant approval

Residence requirement

Dominica does not generally impose a minimum physical-residence period before or after citizenship is granted through the programme.

Important considerations

  • Applications must be submitted through an authorised agent.
  • The qualifying contribution is non-refundable.
  • Due-diligence fees may remain payable even if the application is refused.
  • Citizenship does not automatically create tax residence in Dominica.
